My name is Matt Harnick, and my company, Apogee, was created in 1994 because I felt that I had something different to offer those who were looking for excellent videography, with quality, reputable service, and, most importantly, a look that was different from what else was available.

Most of it was the same when I arrived in the world of video. It was a time when interviews, cartoons and other animations, huge lights and tripods whirling around the dance floor were the normal sight at affairs. "More" was more at that time, and video was still new enough that for those who employed these methods, the more of an impression it made, the more value was attributed to it. However, I couldn't help but to notice that so many affairs did not have a videographer. I decided to make it my goal to be the videographer for that group of people, and develop a style which would keep the intrusion factor to a minimum, cutting out interviews, the rolling tripods on the dance floor, and especially the huge dazzling lights. The key was to keep it an affair, not make it a movie, and to accomplish what we were hired to do. Simply put - capture priceless moments, while minimizing our presence as much as possible, and having no effect on the ambience and enjoyment of the affair. If you take a moment to read some of our testimonials you'll see these are common themes in much of what is written in thanks.

Through the years Apogee has developed a vast network of clients who have experienced what we as a company have to offer. Our goal has been, and will continue to be, to provide excellent, quality videography, and customer service to match. I still get calls from clients ten and more years ago who can't believe I remember them. I like to point out that what I do goes far beyond videotaping an event in their lives. It is about preserving these memories for them, their children, and their grandchildren, for their future. With such a task before me it's difficult to imagine not getting more involved in a client's life. That's how I remember them years later. We take our responsibility very seriously.

It's that kind of service and dedication that keeps us moving forward year after year.
